This is a great kit, while--thankfully--I have not had to use it yet. It is very full, and the backpack has padded shoulder straps and a waist strap for distributing the weight. This is critical if you think you might have to walk a techniques with it. I hold this kit in my auto my wife also has a kit in her auto. We also have a kit at dwelling. Did I mention we live in earthquake country? :-)
If you hold this in your car or truck, and you do not wear comfortable walking shoes most of the time when you drive/commute, you need to most likely do what my wife did, and throw a pair of walking shoes in the trunk along with your kit. Breaking the high heels off looks awesome in the films, but it isn't practical.
The only issue I wish that this kit had was the sort of rechargeable flashlight that will also recharge your cell telephone I may be receiving one particular of these separately, but it is a shame that they did not add that function, given that they have practically every thing else!

This kit is certainly a joke. The backpack is OK....but that's about where the OK starts and ends.
The pump flashlight is affordable and it is obvious that if you definitely have to use it to see in the dark, its going to fail just after just a few minutes of continuous use. I purchased low-cost toy LED flashlights that will outlast this a single.
The radio really has a couple batteries, the receiver is poor, and you honestly do not want batteries and that liability of needing them. You want a crank radio. And one particular that's improved than this.
The huge killer in this kit is the boxed water. With just mild abuse, these paper boxes of water rupture, and the water quite substantially destroys anything else in the pack.
My advise is this.....if you want to have a survival pack....get yourself a decent backpack and load it with the following:
Bottled water (in as compact a plastic bottles as you can get-safer that way in case one leaks).
A decent 1st aid kit
A couple of fantastic camping emergency blankets (the compact ones).
Hand Crank Radio
A handful of days of dehydrated camping meals
A compact respirator with refills
A good knife
And call it good.
Do not obtain this kit thinking you have what you need to have if you are suddenly in the middle of a massive earthquake and there are no infrastructure services. This kit is not that kit. And in reality, if you do pay for this kit....dump it out on the floor when you do....and take a superior appear at it. Then replace nearly almost everything in it, with a equivalent concept item that will actually work. :-)
As an inspector of survival kits, I'm not impressed with this 1....and I don't believe you can invest in one thing that will actually do you considerably decent for under $500. And purchasing a thing low-priced that will in reality not do you much really good, is about like not getting a single at all.
Perfect to develop your own.....and then take a great deal more time paying consideration to what the disaster program is in your specific region, and you will be way ahead of the game.
